What will you do when any program becomes non-responding? Obviously you would terminate the program from task manager. Usually you will open task manager by Alt+Ctrl+Del, wait for an endless time and manually abort the program which is not responding. Actually it becomes very irritating as it makes us wait for a long time. But you can automate the process.
By a simple change in Registry the abortion of non responding programs can be done automatically. Here is the simple process to automatically close the non responding program in windows XP.
Follow the simple process
- Click on the Start menu and then Run,type regedit, press enter. This will open your Registry Editor.
- In the left side column navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Control Panel/Desktop.
- Find out the option autoend tasks and double-click on it. This will open a new window.
- Change it’s default value 0 to 1, and click on OK.Just reboot your machine to check it’s effect.
It means you are enabling the program for closing the non responding tasks automatically. Further if you want end non responding programs manually, just change it’s default value from 1 to 0 and restart your PC.
N.B: Always keep the backup of your registry before editing it. I can’t take any responsibility for any type of damages. Use it in your own risk.
