Change Windows XP Start Menu Button Name As Your Choice

There are many articles about the process of changing the name of  start menu button  in Windows XP on internet.
I have noticed that there are some myth that the name of the start menu button in Windows XP must be of 5 character as “start” is of 5 character, but I did not find any logic behind this concept.I have changed the name of the  start menu button in  a 8 character word and there is no adverse effect. You can also keep the name as your choice. Here is the screen shot of my start menu button. So what you have to do to change your XP start menu button name?Follow the instruction below.

First step you have to do

At first you have to make some changes in explorer.exe file which is located in c:\Windows\.But it is a binary file and can not edit it directly. So to edit the binary file you can use the freeware Resource HackerTM.It is a free utility that allows you to edit, rename, delete, add, modify and modify in Windows 32 bit executable and resource file.Download Resource HackerTM.
For safety at firs take backup of the explorer.exe file. Now navigate the filec:\Windows\explorer.exe as shown in the following figure.
